Get Your Web Site Noticed

Looking for the right web host and creating the web site is only half way of your battles. Now that you have found a perfect web host and created a great website, its now time to get noticed. Problem is, there are tons of other website with the same concept and idea as your website. So how can you be able to generate more hits and be noticed? This situation is exactly like a geeky guy wanting to be the king of the prom. Maybe a geeky guy being king of the prom is easier with fewer competitions.

It will be an uphill battle to get to those top 20 websites. But you can do these things directly or indirectly. Indirectly meaning, sneak your way up, without the competition knowing you’re there all f a sudden. Be sneaky, the best battles are won by not being too courageous anyway. You have to cheat to win.

The most expensive and sure-fire way is to buy ad space. If you have big budget, go for it. If you’re on a limited one try following some of these tips. But since we’re talking about sneaky ways, buying ad space is not the answer.

1. Join the board discussions of those top 20 websites results. Write something or anything at all and then post a link or a signature file of your website.

2. Ask the web owner if he would like a free e-book. If he does, link the e-book to your site or put ads in the e-book.

3. If they accept articles in their search engines, volunteer to write it. But don’t forget to put your link or signature file.

4. Write something good about their website or their product. Even if it may be over-exaggerating it. Then tell the web owner of the article you have done and they may provide a link to your website. Try finding those egotistic ones.

5. Try to trade advertising with a popular website and give some incentives if your site is not s popular.

6. Cross promotion deals will be also good.

7. Give a great testimonial about their product or service and they may mention your website on their advertisements on fliers.

8. If they have a free classified ad section, post your website there and try to make it attractive and catchy so that they will notice it.

9. Post your link regularly on their free-for-all web link page to make sure that you stay on top.

10. Sign their guest books, leave some great comments and also leave your web link or signature file.

If you still want to garner a few hundred thousand more hits. You can also try this strategy.

Since award sites are able to draw out tons of traffic on their website, you could try to copy what they are doing. This is how they work out anyway, they give another website an award for any damn reason they can think about. They then usually link it up to the website who has given them the award. These sites are able to draw more hits because they link back up to the website of the person who has given them the award.

Be creative, give out awards that make sense and no-sense at all. Create awards such as the simplest site, easiest to find or great topics at their forums. Think of anything that your mind can think about. If you’re so desperate to be noticed, created 50 awards a week and that would be 2600 sites linking to your site. If you’re lucky enough to receive 5 hits a week from the linking stuff that would be 260 hits a year. It will then equal to at least 676,000 more hits. This is just a hypothetical situation that you can try.

Good luck, hope you can be able to slowly sneak up on the competition and be crowned the sneakiest website ever.
