The Different Jobs of a Web

Developer

 

The career of a web developer takes different variations. Just like finding the right data on the internet, finding the right job as a web developer may take few searches as well. But maybe if by becoming more precise in what kind of job you are looking for, searching for the right job as a web developer may be easier as well. Her are the following different job descriptions of a web developer.

Web Designer:
They are responsible for creating how the website should look. This includes such things as logos, banners, and other graphics also where to put such texts and the navigation of the site. They need to work closely with the marketing team to be able to have a consistent image of what they are trying to tell/sell their market. Smaller organizations tend to outsource the designing process to save money in maintenance.

Web Programmers:
They are able to turn a concept into a reality. They are responsible for turning the concept into the proper functioning website. Expertise in Java, JavaScript, CGI and Perl are the basic requirements of this job along with web development tools such as Dream Weaver, Flash and Cold Fusion.

Web Producers:
They need to coordinate with various members of the development team to ensure that the company’s visions and goals are being achieved. They are the ones who make sure that the organization is working perfectly fine to be more efficient.

Content Developer:
They usually work under the web production department. They are the ones who are responsible in creating the content of the website. This includes such things such as text, video, pictures, etc. They usually work together with the programmers. They are also responsible for such duties as sending news letters and adding information on the site.

Project Manager:
The role of the project manager is similar to that of the Web Producer, but on a lower level. The role requires him/her to have strong communication skills as he needs to make sure everyone works together. He also needs to have a strong technical background, financial planning ability and management experience. In short he acts like a manager plus know-how on web developments.

System Administrator:
He maintains and services an organization’s server, hardware and software. He protects the computer system and how it is able to interface with the internet service provider. He makes sure that transactions do not bog down for the e-commerce and other web applications.
